How to reach the hotel/venue from Brussels-Zaventem Airport

Public transport:

The Thon hotel EU is located less than 400 metres away from Brussels-Schuman train station. It is a 5-minute walk. A direct connection from/to Brussels-Zaventem airport takes approximately 15 minutes to Brussels-Schuman station. There are direct trains every 30 minutes in both directions. More trains can connect you to Brussels-Schuman station but also involve a change at the Brussels-North station. Train platforms are located on Level -1 at the airport.

You also have a direct connection from the airport to the Thon hotel EU via the bus line 12 (every 12 minutes). It takes approximatively a 36-minute ride, depending of traffic conditions, and you can stop at Maelbeek. From there, it is a 3-minute walk to the hotel (250 m).

Please be advised that for journeys from/to the airport, there is an additional cost to your train or bus ticket called the ‘Diabolo fee’ which is a supplement of €6.70 per single journey (in 1st or 2nd train class). More information here.

Taxi:

Brussels-Zaventem airport is an approximately 25-min drive to/from the Thon hotel EU (depending on traffic).
A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs around 45 euros

How to reach the hotel/venue from Brussels train stations

Public transport:

There are connecting trains between Brussels-Midi/Zuid International train station and Brussels-Schuman station every 12 minutes. A direct train ride between the two stations takes approximatively 15 minutes.

If you travel by train, your ticket may be valid within the whole Brussels zone and can be used between these two train stations. But with some international trains such as Eurostar, a second train ticket may be needed to reach Brussels-Schuman station.

Both the hotel and the venue can be reached from Brussels-Midi/Zuid International train station via metro lines 2 or 6 (direction Elisabeth), then with metro lines 1 or 5 (direction 1 Stockel or 5 Herrmann-Debroux): connecting lines are at stop Arts-Loi/Kunst-Wet where you can change metro. The closest metro stop to reach the Thon hotel EU is Maelbeek, the closest stop to reach the venue is Schuman.

Taxi from Brussels-Midi/Zuid International Station:

The Thon hotel EU is about 10 kilometres away from Brussels-Midi/Zuid International train station. It is an approximately 18 to 40-minute drive (depending on traffic).

About the venue

The 2-day meeting will take place at the European Commission’s Albert Borschette Congress Centre (rue Froissart 36, 1040 Brussels). It is located 1 km from the Thon hotel EU, which is approximatively a 15-minute walk.

The venue is located less than a 10-minute walk (700 m) from the Brussels-Schuman train station.

The Conference room is located on the fifth floor. After passing through security at the entrance on level -1, you can take the lifts to the right or the escalators to the left.

Please note that lunch will be provided on site on both days. A walking dinner on the 1st day will take place outside the venue from 18:00 to 21:00.
